Family Vacation with the Rumsey side

We just got back from our first-ever "Rumsey" family vacation. We headed down to Branson for 3 nights with Nini and Pops, Aunt Molly, Uncle Damon and Colton. Everyone had a lot of fun! We tried to squeeze in as much as we could while there....we went to the go carts, played mini-golf, went to see the Legends show, went swimming, went on a "Duck" ride, went down to the landing and saw the water/light show, and went to Silver Dollar City for an entire day too! The boys had a blast and were sad when it was time to come home. They got to go on roller coasters for the first time...Masen's tummy was a little queasy, but Dawson thought they were AWESOME. Masen especially liked the "Jerk" show at SDC, which was a kids version of Stomp. Dawson liked all of the ice cream and slushies that he got to have on vacation :). The both enjoyed getting soaking wet on the water rides --and I mean SOAKED from head to toe!!

We had a great time and thank Nini and Pops for the fun trip! We're going to try to make it an annual or at least bi-annual trip in the future. Here are a few pics from the vacation.

Pops, Josh, Masen, Dawson and Uncle Damon load the "boat ride" which was like a giant swing.
Aunt Molly, Masen, Josh and Dawson riding the roller coaster.

Here's a pic from our "Duck" ride. The gave us all these quackers to use while on the tour. The tour lasted about an hour and drove us around Branson and then splashed into Table Rock lake too! Both of the boys got to drive the boat while it was in the water. The quackers sure make for a noisy home though :).

Aunt Molly and Josh were the only ones to brave the go carts this time.

Swim time at our condo.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!!

We've had a great couple of weeks with our families. Josh's parents, Kris and Gary (or Grandma and PaPa) were in town for over a week and we really enjoyed spending time with them - as always! I'm including pics from our trip to the Kansas City Zoo. All of the Kindler cousins, except for Owen, were there and my parents went as well. We had a lot of fun, even though it rained for the entire first half of the day. This made it even more memorable! The kids loved playing in the rain and using their umbrellas. We spent ALL day there and all of the kids were troopers....even I was a trooper to walk for almost 6 hours when I was 7 months pregnant. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful family and treasure our time together! Enjoy the pics.

Our family of four and 1/2....only 6 weeks to go until we meet our daughter/sister!!

The Kindler cousins...Taylor, Dawson, Aidan, Masen, Lauren and the newest cousin - Carter.
The kids thought it was pretty fun to use their umbrellas :).

Belly pics and more...

I've had a lot of requests for "belly pics" lately....so here you go. As you can see our baby girl is growing fast!! Can't believe we only have 8 weeks to go (hopefully less) until we get to meet our daughter. I have to admit that this pregnancy is wearing me out -- or maybe it's my boys that are wearing me out.....either way, I can tell I'm nearing the end. I'm thinking our daughter may turn out to be an acrobat, at least she loves doing somersaults in my belly! I love being able to feel the movements during pregnacy, probably my favorite part. The room is pretty much ready --thanks to my wonderful husband --and we're preparing for her arrival. We're still looking for a new pediatrician and need to decide on a name though. Hopefully we can agree on a name this time!!

I'm including some pics of our recent trip to Aunt Molly and Uncle Damon's pool. The boys are having a lot of fun swimming. With this heat, we like to go as much as possible. I can only imagine what August is going to be like....

June Fun!!

We've had a fun month at the Kindler household! All of Josh's family came up for Josh's brother, Zach's, 30th birthday party. We rarely get to ALL be together, so it was a lot of fun. We hung out at Chuck E Cheese with our cousins (see below). Thus far there are 7 grandkids on the Kindler side (soon to be 8 when our baby is born). The oldest, Lauren, is 7 and the youngest, Carter is only 6 weeks old! So much fun to all be together!!

The rest of the pics are from our fun Father's Day. We went up to Topeka to one of Pops' (Gil's) friend's homes to go fishing. The boys had so much fun - so did Daddy!! They caught a lot of fish and also had fun feeding the animals on the farm -- goats, donkeys, and a llama too. We braved the heat and we're out there from 2-7. The boys were proud to show off their "big catches" of the day.

We're looking forward to Josh being off of work for three weeks in July. We have a fun family vacation planned with Nini and Pops and Aunt Molly, Uncle Damon and Colton. We'll be headed to Branson, MO for 3 nights.

And....of course, we'll be looking forward to the end of August and meeting our daughter. We love summer time!!! Hoping everyone has a fun and relaxing summer too!

1st grade...here we come!!

Masen is officially a "1st grader!" He had his Kindergarten graduation last Thursday and I'm attaching some pics from the big event. Unfortunately, our camera is not the best camera in the world, so I didn't get many good ones of the actual ceremony....buying a new camera is on my list before this baby is born!! Masen had such a great year in Kindergarten! He LOVES going to school (which we are definitely happy about) and will miss all of his friends over the summer. Luckily his best buddy, Brady, lives right behind us, so he'll still get to see him a lot. I thought I would shed a lot more tears, but I was a little busy trying to figure the stinkin' camera out and didn't really have time to cry. I just can't believe that he's already moving on to 1st grade...time goes by sooooo fast!! Daws will be starting Preschool in the Fall too, and he is VERY excited to be able to get his own backpack. I hope everyone has a safe and fun summer!! We'll be sure to post pics of our fun adventures.

Dad, Mom and Masen (and baby sister, obviously by the size of my belly) on graduation day.

Masen's teacher, Mrs. Brous, was so great!! He's really going to miss her next year.

The "two amigos," Brady and Masen.

A fun-filled May

What a fun (and eventful) May we've had at the Kindler household! Josh and Jen both had birthdays and we celebrated Mother's Day with family too. The boys (and Daddy) made me a beautiful new flower pot - as Walls of Clay - for Mother's Day. They have made me a new ceramic piece every year since my very first Mother's Day and they are so special to me!! I have them proudly displayed in my kitchen for everyone to see.

Masen started Tball and has had 2 games thus far. He's having a lot of fun and has made a lot of new friends this season. Both of the boys just finished swim lessons and are ready for the pool to open. We hope to make it there a lot this summer. Both of the boys have improved so much and they both went down the slide on their last day of lessons too :).

We also took the boys to their FIRST Royals game last Sunday. They had so much fun!! Masen really enjoyed the game (check out our view from our seats - yes, we were at the second to top row of the stadium - yikes!!). Dawson really enjoyed the cotton candy and seeing Slugger. Both boys got to bring home a stuffed Slugger, which they were pretty excited about.

We're looking forward to the summer. We plan to do many fun-filled family activities. Josh will have the month of July off, so that will be nice!

Hope everyone is enjoying this spring-time weather as much as we are!!

Our "VERY HIGH-UP" seats at the Royals game!!

The new fountains at the stadium are really neat too!
Masen's first Tball game this year - he got a lot of action playing pitcher!

Birthday time and more

Josh turned 33 on Monday! We had a weekend full of celebrations (dinner out with just the 4 of us and then dinner out with Linda, Molly, Damon and Colton). We had our own little
"party" on Monday night too. It's always fun to celebrate with family and friends. Jen's birthday is on this coming Monday. We'll be celebrating on Mother's Day and also celebrating the arrival of our newest nephew this weekend (going to be born on Friday!!).

The boys have had so much fun playing with their cousin Taylor these past 2 years! We've been fortunate to be able to babysit her 2 days/week, but that's now coming to an end and we are really sad :(. We know that we'll still get together lots though, as they live in Gardner too. Dawson and Taylor have really became buddies - they are a year apart. Don't have many pics to post, but here are a few from this week.

Here's a pic of Taylor and Daws playing their guitars.

Rain, rain go away!!

This is the 4th day of rain for us here this week...makes for a REALLY long week. Especially when there was no school on Monday or Tuesday and we were stuck inside. I know it's good for the grass and flowers, but I'm ready for some sunshine!! We've been creative with our time though - Daws has given all of his animals a "bath," we've made Daddy birthday cards (a week early) and I got the laundry done and the refrigerator cleaned out. Sometimes rainy days CAN be productive.

We did manage to get out of the house briefly on Tuesday morning. I took the boys up to Happy House, which is where Dawson will be starting pre-school in the Fall. Masen spent 3 years there and loved every minute!! Such a great place! Dawson pulled the whole "shy-act" while visiting. He didn't even say one word...hopefully he'll warm up more once he gets to know everyone. Masen only has 3 more weeks of school left then it will be on to 1st grade. I can't believe it!!

We've been busy with swim lessons, Tball practices, and Awana and bible study. I'm sure this summer will be just as busy. Of course, we'll be anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little girl in August! Josh will have the month of July off, so that will be nice. We're planning a vacation to Branson with Nini and Pops and Molly, Damon and Colton. Should be fun!!

Hoping everyone has had a good week. I'm looking forward to the city-wide garage sales here in Gardner!!! Hoping to find some good bargains....

The Boys' Annual Fishing Trip

Yesterday the boys went on their Annual Fishing Trip of the year. They went with Daddy, Uncle Damon and Pops. This was Dawson's first year to get to go and he caught the first fish!! We're going to upload the video of him reeling it in soon. They braved the rain and cold and had a great time. They always start the trip with breakfast at Perkins and end it with dinner at Sonic...I think the boys sometimes love the food more than the fishing part :). Here are some pics captured on the trip. Dawson woke up this morning ready to go fishing again!

Dawson catches his FIRST fish!! Very proud!

Easter weekend

Here's a few pics of our fun-filled Easter weekend. The boys had an Easter egg hunt with their cousin, Taylor on Saturday - while the sun was actually out. We went to Aunt Molly, Uncle Damon's (and Colton's) house for dinner on Easter Sunday. Had a great time with our family! We cherish every moment we spend together.

Dawson stops hunting to pose :)

We colored eggs on Saturday too.

It's a GIRL!!!

We found out the exciting news....we're going to have a baby GIRL!!! We are very excited (I am especially excited to finally be able to buy pink stuff!). The baby looks healthy thus far and weighed in at a big "8 oz." I'm starting to feel more movement as the weeks move on. We're discussing names, although nothing in stone yet. Here's a pic of my growing belly at 20 weeks pregnant. Trying to upload a few sonogram pics too and will add them when I do. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers during this pregnancy! I'm finally feeling really good :).

Roller Skater...

Masen and his buddy Parker at the party.....It was a "Pirate" theme.

Waving to Mom

Stops to pose for Mom :)

Masen has his first Roller Skating party last week with his school. He has been practicing on his skates in PE class (or at least they tried it out a few times). He was so excited to go to the party. He was only 1 of a few Kindergarteners there, but that didn't stop him from having fun! Since I took him to the party, he was all on his 0wn when it came to skating...No, I didn't think it was a good idea for a pregnant woman to attempt to put on skates. He did so good! He was able to go around the entire rink by himself (didn't even hold on to the wall). He kind of shuffled his way around, but boy was he proud :). Here are a few pics from this adventure...I wish they turned out better, but due to the strob lights, I couldn't get very many good ones. He can't wait until next year's party :).

The count down is on....

In less than 2 weeks we will officially know the sex of Baby Kindler #3!!! I can't wait! People have asked me and "nope," I don't have any feeling one way or the other. Masen has said that he doesn't care if it's a boy or a girl - as long as it has "yellow hair" like Dawson. Most days the boys say it's a baby brother. BUT....PaPa Kindler has guessed that it's a GIRL and so far he's 7 for 7 on guessing the sex of his Grandbabies. Aunt Molly had a dream that it was another boy. ...Any guesses??? The waiting is torture :). We bought a few big purchases last week to prepare - a new dressor and glider/rocker for the baby's room. Masen will officially be moving over to share a room with Dawson after school is out. The bunk beds have been up for some time, but Masen has opted to sleep in his own room since Dawson was keeping him up at night. Hopefully we'll get some sleep once the moves happens. At least we'll have all summer to prepare. Josh and I are truly blessed and thank God everyday for our beautiful family!!! Whether we have a boy or a girl this time is in his hands....we'll see on the 7th :). That is "if the baby cooperates..."

A little bit of this...a little bit of that

So...I'm going to use this post to "vent" a little - as I need it!! It's been kind of a frustrating, sad, and eventful week at our household, or at least for me. It all started with me ALMOST getting scammed by a horrible person on Craig's list. We are selling a few items around our house and posted these for the first time. Long story short, some horrible man/person, gave me this "believable" story about wanting to buy the furniture to surprise his wife AND offered me $50 more than what we were asking for...needless to say that I didn't read the section on typical "scams" and fell for this story. I only found out that I was being taken for a schmuck when I was talking about this with my cousin, Lucy (thanks again Lucy for saving me a LOT OF MONEY!!!). You see these people send you a FAKE cashier's check (and accidentally write it for way more than what they were supposed to write it for). When I found out it was a scam I emailed the man a nasty message and told him that if he ever contacts me again, I would call the police. It just makes me so mad that #1 I would be dumb enough to fall for this scam, and #2 that there are such sick people in this world!!!

It's been a really emotional week for me being pregnant. We had a little scare this weekend, but things seem to be okay now. I'm pretty nervous with this pregnancy and am really trying hard to let go of my fear and remind myself that it's in God's hands. I am so blessed to have my two wonderful sons already and feel fortunate that God has chosen me to have another child! Even though I'm feeling a lot better, my emotions have gotten the best of me this week. A few days I have found myself going from hysterically laughing to sobbing uncontrollably. The things that happen to your body and emotions when you are pregnant are just crazy sometime! I am excited for the weeks to come though....feeling the baby move for the first time AND of course, finding out the sex!!! We hope to be able to find out in about 4-6 weeks. Can't believe that I'm already 14 weeks along.

And finally...I am so frustrated with insurance companies! How the individuals working for these companies can be so heartless at times. And how long it takes to try to get one stinkin' bill paid for (which IS covered by your plan!). Some people just make things so difficult. Just think how much time we waste dealing with these people...I can think of many other things which to spend my time!

Well, enough venting for now. I need to try to get some things done today. I hope everyone has had a good week and enjoys the weekend ahead!

BIG NEWS from the Kindlers....

It's been so long since my last post and so much has happened for us here at the Kindler household...The biggest news of all is that Masen and Dawson are going to be big brothers again!!! Yep - Jen is pregnant and due to have the baby around August 26th. We are really excited and can't wait to find out the sex (YES, we will be finding out since Jen is such a planner :). This pregnancy has been quite different from the other two, so who knows. Papa Kindler is predicting a girl and he has guessed right on all 6 of the grandkids thus far (plus he guessed correct that Zach and Sara would be having a boy this time and this turned out to be true too). Who knows...any guesses???

Of course, another "addition" means that there is more planning to do to prepare. We made the first (and probably biggest) preparation this weekend by purchasing a van!! We love it and are so excited to have one. It's equipped with a DVD player and all, which is the boy's favorite part :). We'll post pics soon.

Masen has lost TWO teeth within the last week and loves to show off his jack-o-lantern smile (see below). The toothfairy has came twice and she even mailed him a dollar too. He's pretty excited about the money gift.

Dawson is keeping us on our toes, as usual. He's having fun going to MOPS (or church school as we call it) with mommy and loves playing with his cousins Taylor and Colton when they come over during the week.

We are looking forward to celebrating Taylor's 2nd birthday this weekend and spending time with our family. There's nothing like it!!!

Masen's big day

We had quite the (few days) of celebration for Masen's birthday. He woke up at 5:30 AM on the big day to open his biggest gift of all - A Transformer Bike! He can't wait to ride it to the park when the weather gets warmer. Josh and I took him out to lunch (to Chapala, his favorite place of all) and to play cosmic mini-golf and to the arcade. Oh, and we also made a stop by Toys R Us to buy 2 new transformers with his b-day money. Whew! What a day. On Saturday we "partied" at Chuck E Cheese with friends and family. We had a great time! Here are some pics captured from the big day....

Masen at Chapala. The waiters sang to him and brought us fried ice cream :).

We love Chuck E Cheese!!!

Masen "the musician" turns 6!!!

Masen is turning 6 tomorrow! Can't believe he has already been on this earth for 6 years...boy has it flown by! I still remember the day we found out we were pregnant - on Josh's birthday. How exciting it was! Of course we were a little anxious to be parents for the first time, but we were so happy that God had blessed us with this gift. I couldn't imagine our lives without him, he has made us so proud. What a talented and smart boy he is!

I'm including a little clip that I found when he was 3. This proves just how talented he is when it comes to music and how young he was when he became interested in singing. He even has been telling us lately that he's going to be a Music Teacher when he grows-up. Of course, Josh and I are really hoping that he'll become a rock star and support his parents in our old age instead :). What ever he decides to be - he will succeed!

We love you Masen! Happy 6th Birthday!!!

P.S. More pictures to come - I just have to scan them first.....

Christmas is down, one birthday down and one to go....

What a busy month it's been for us!!! Can't believe it's already January. I swear that it was just July and we are enjoying our vacation at the Ozarks. Christmas and New Years came and went so fast. We were blessed this year (spoiled some too by the partents/grandparents). I can't believe that we spend so much time shopping and wrapping and then it's all done and over in a flash. Josh went back to work today and it's back to our "normal routine." Masen goes back to school tomorrow. It think we are all ready to get back to normal, although it was fun to have Daddy home for 2 weeks!!! Of course, I didn't get anything done that I had planned on getting done, but we had a lot of fun and spent a lot of time with family - which is the best part about the holidays! Next is Masen's 6th birthday. I can't believe he is turing 6!!! Of course, I'll post some baby pics closer to his b-day (it's the 15th). We're planning our fun day of taking him out to lunch and maybe going cosmic mini-golfing too (just Masen, mommy and daddy). Then we'll be celebrating with family and friends at Chuck E. Cheese. Here's a few pics taken over Christmas and Dawson's b-day. Hoping everyone has a blessed 2009!!!
